Job Overview
Welhams started in business just after the end of the second world war and we have always been proud of our engine reconditioning skills. We are a family-owned Leicester company and have been in business since 1947.
We can rebore cylinder blocks, recondition heads and regrind crankshafts all in house as well as complete engine rebuilds.
We are members of the Federation of Engine Re-Manufacturers which ensures that all our work is carried out to a high professional standard.
Job Role:
We are in need of someone to learn all aspects of engine reconditioning, i.e. rebuilding cylinder heads, reboring cylinder blocks and crankshaft grinding.
This is a dirty and noisy environment but would suit someone either with some existing mechanical knowledge or an interest in vehicles.
We are looking for people who have some mechanical knowledge (or at least interest) and who don't mind getting their hands dirty! We will provide full on the job training and PPE,
Minimum wage to start with a review after six months, your first 4 weeks will be a trial period.
22 days holiday plus 8 statutory per calendar year, pro-rata up to 31.12.24.
We work from 8am to 5pm on Mondays to Thursdays and 8am to 4pm on Fridays.
Skills and Qualifications required
Motor Vehicle, HGV or Mechanical Engineering background or experience.
