We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to work in our Day Centre. The ideal candidate will need to have experience working with Learning Disabilities, Dementia, Autism and Challenging behaviours.
Your primary focus will be to enhance the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve within the day centre.
Responsibilities
• Manage and set up activities for our clients.
• Assist clients with personal care tasks, toileting, changing pads etc.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, following care plans.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• To complete daily notes, ABC charts and Incident forms accurately
• Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised environment.
• Taking clients out into the community - local parks, museums etc.
Requirements
• Experience working 1:1 or 2:1 with clients (Essential)
• Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with clients and team
• Previous experience with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Dementia and Challenging behaviours (Essential)
• Familiar with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathise and connect with clients on a personal level.
• Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
• A full UK valid driving licence with access to a vehicle (Essential)
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and training in the field of care.
Please note, an Enhanced DBS will be required for this role.
Skills and Qualifications required

- Home care: 1 year (required)

Hours per week
Working pattern Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (9:30am - 2:30pm) or (9:00am - 3:00pm) With the potential of working days increasing to 5 days.
