Job Overview
The Realtime and 3D Artist role involves creating various artistic elements for Virtual Reality, Virtual Production, projected content and interactive experiences. This includes characters, environments, lighting, materials, animation, interactivity, and technical development like blueprint creation. This role needs experience in Unreal Engine, but is ideal for someone who also wants to be involved in wider creative and concept development. We are a small team, so expect to adapt and expand your skills to fit a variety of needs. If you love to learn new things and innovate, then this is the role for you. If you want repetition and life inside your comfort zone…… maybe not so much.
Key tasks include creating 3D assets, materials, environments, rigged characters, and prototypes, as well as underlying automation and Unreal blueprints to make projects work flawlessly for our audiences. You will also work with the team to make challenging ideas a reality, and make sure technology, script, soundtrack and performance elements all come together seamlessly to tell stories in new and exciting ways.
You will support our skills development and participatory activity. In other words, sometimes you will need to help others, young and old, to begin their learning journey using immersive technology. You don’t need to be a teacher, just a friendly and supportive person who likes to share!
The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of 3D packages (Blender), and Unreal Engine, alongside a willingness to experiment with other software to solve challenges and create innovative work. You will have an interest in great stories in some or all of, games, film, arts and heritage.
Key tasks:
Create VR experiences, large-scale projection and interactive exhibitions
Create 3D assets and animations

Maintain project performance and resolve platform limitation issues (ie Android, VR)
Work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the team observing the cooperative values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity
Perform any other duties as assigned to support the delivery of MBD’s mission and vision
