Job Overview
You will be a key member of a small and dedicated hydrant maintenance team, working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. Fire hydrants are a critical component of the water supply infrastructure used in firefighting operations, and ensuring their reliability is essential to the effective delivery of our emergency response services. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection and routine maintenance of fire hydrants located within the public highway.
Skills and Qualifications required
We are looking for a level-headed, enthusiastic, and proactive individual, ideally with previous experience working within or around the public highway. A strong understanding of health and safety is essential, including the ability to assess the risks associated with each working environment. Excellent verbal communication skills are important, as you will be required to liaise professionally with contractors, fire service personnel, and members of the public. Good written communication is also necessary for accurately updating records and reporting defects using our digital Water Management System—full training will be provided. Confidence in the use of hand tools and basic testing equipment is also essential.
