Job Overview

Base location: Travel between Leicestershire branches with regular opportunities to work from home. Work base will normally be the closest branch to where you live.

Our induction process has in-person components that will require attendance at one of our branches.

Contract: Fixed term for 1 year

Citizens Advice Leicestershire is an independent and local not for profit organisation, providing accessible and high quality information, advice and education to anyone who needs it. Last year we supported 31,715 people across Leicester and Leicestershire, securing circa £14,109,952 in maximised income for our citizens. We take a partnership approach to deliver our services, working with local government, National Citizens Advice and local VCSE organisations.

About the role:
You’ll give direct support to individuals with mental health and learning difficulties. Your aim will be to help clients access services, manage their debt and navigate the often confusing world of benefits and welfare support.

The main purpose of the role is:

Build relationships with clients through phone, video calls, email, or in-person meetings.
Tailor your approach to each person’s needs, making sure they feel comfortable.
Help clients understand how to deal with debt.
Record all your advice and actions clearly in our system.

About You:
You’re kind, patient, and an excellent listener. You understand the unique needs and challenges our clients face. You’re also organised and detail-oriented with a passion for helping others.

To be successful in this role, you will:

Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and over the phone.
Manage your time well, even when things get busy.
Be flexible and understanding, ready to adapt your approach for each client.
Be comfortable using computers and various online systems.

We are looking for someone that can clearly demonstrate they have the essential skills identified on the person specification but don’t worry if you don’t have all the experience listed in the full job description – we offer full training!
