Employer Case study - Cedar Mews Care Home

“I was delighted to be asked if I would like to work with the Supported Employment Team at Leicester City Council, to recruit people into work who have Autism and/or Learning Disabilities for Cedar Mews Care Home.  We have employed two staff members, and they have shown commitment and dedication to the company becoming trusted team members.

The support I have received has been excellent throughout the process and continues with regular calls to see if any further help is needed.  I was supported through the interview process with each candidate having a job coach and thoroughly enjoyed my morning of interviewing and meeting new people.

The team arranged meetings throughout the recruitment process ensuring we had all information and working with the candidate to make this was as smooth as possible.

Each employee has a job coach which has been available for us to contact should we need any help and when I have asked for further support with training our staff, they have provided face to face sessions.

I would not hesitate to go through this process again should we have any further suitable vacancies.”
