Job Overview
Wolfdale School is an Independent Specialist School with multiple sites in Leicestershire. Our provision is for young people with an Education Health and Care Plan and those with a diagnosis including Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, and Social Emotional Mental Health.
We are looking for someone to fulfil: Permanent, full time role. Covering 5 days per week, 8:30am – 4:30pm on a Wednesday and all remaining days 8:30-4pm, 39 weeks per annum, mainly based at our unit in Desford however may also be required to work at our main sites of Anstey and Ratby.
Job Purpose:
To provide learning and pastoral support to individual pupil(s) within the school following the timetable provided. Will work under the direction and supervision of the teacher to contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities for groups and individual pupils; lesson planning (in consultation with teachers/Curriculum Managers); assisting in report writing. Specified work may be delivered to students without the presence of a teacher, on an ongoing basis as part of routine timetabling and/or on a more ad hoc basis.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support:
• Contribute to the wolf meetings.
• Watch, record and report student progress
• Cleaning tasks
• Contribute to pen portraits, SAR meeting
• Key worker responsibility
• Use Positive Handling strategies and techniques where appropriate and understand
how to reduce the necessity of use by de-escalation.
• Promote and support the development of pupils self-reliance, self-esteem and
emotional resilience as well as educational development.
• Follow PSP’s to support social, emotional and behavioural development of the
pupils
• Transport, escort and supervise pupils on educational visits and off-site activities,
ensuring their health, safety and well-being
• Supervise students at break and lunch times, including the provision of social
activities
• Complete standardised pupil assessments as required
• Support teacher with classroom/lesson prep
• Promote the zones of regulation framework across the school
• Attend all compulsory in house training.
• Complete IR’s, parent contact logs, information sheets
• 1:1 working with pupils
• Be willing to provide emergency cover for a lesson if needed
Education:
• Contribute to evaluation of learning activities.
• Support learning activities for an individual pupil according to the pupil’s timetable
• Encourage participation in structured and unstructured learning activities, including
play (timetabled and during breaks if required)
• Support the pupils while they're undertaking curricular activities and academic work
• Create resources where required (teacher led)

• Take responsibility for providing Basic First Aid on site (once training provided)
• Be aware of the importance of e-safety, confidentiality and compliance with Data
Protection Law and GDPR.
• Willingness to be flexible in both approach & use of time.
• All tasks should be undertaken with due regard to Health & Safety Regulations.
• To undertake such other duties which are within the scope of the job purpose, title
of the job and its grade.
