Job Overview

Purpose of this Post:
To deliver the efficient day-to-day running of the sport and leisure facility
Major Objectives:
1. To ensure centre and site facilities are available in a clean and safe condition,
and in a timely manner.
2. To ensure a well-maintained, safe, and supportive environment for all users and
staff
3. To achieve good customer relationships through customer-oriented service.
4. To support the delivery of Leicester Hockey Club C.IC. aims and objectives.
5. To implement Leicester Hockey Club C.I.C. Equal Opportunities policies and
practices in respect of service delivery and ensure an environment free from
harassment and discrimination.
6. To ensure that target groups achieve equality in terms of their access to and
participation in sport and leisure activities.

Summary of job tasks:
This task list is not exhaustive. The tasks listed are, generally, those taking at least 10% of the postholder's time.
1. Opening and preparing the site for users and securing the facility at the end of sessions.
2. Cleaning and maintaining facilities to appropriate standards and in line with Health & Safety obligations.
3. Dealing with customer enquiries and complaints.
4. Assisting in the delivery of match days, special events, exhibitions, and, where appropriate, major incidents as a rest centre, etc.
5. Dealing with operational, maintenance, and technical problems in an efficient and safe manner.
6. Carrying out administrative tasks such as taking phone calls, sending and responding to emails, managing bookings, signing in and out of kit, maintenance of records, etc.
7. Maintaining compliance with appropriate regulations (e.g. Health & Safety at Work Act).
8. Ensuring appropriate materials and equipment are available and used safely.

Skills and Qualifications required

Level 2 English
6 months + customer service experience, preferably from a leisure or service environment
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Administrative ability
Flexible to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends 
Must be prepared to wear work-appropriate clothing
First Aid at work qualification - Desirable

Hours per week

5 – 15, potential shift times: Monday to Friday: 5pm – 10pm, Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 1pm
