Job Overview
Bradburys Group’s Security & Protective Division is recruiting professional Event Stewards to support the safe, orderly, and customer-focused delivery of licensed events and high-footfall public gatherings across Leicestershire.
Event Stewards play a critical role in crowd safety, attendee experience, and regulatory compliance, acting as the first point of contact for the public while supporting the wider event safety and security framework. The role requires strong communication skills, situational awareness, and the ability to operate confidently within dynamic, people-centric environments.
Key Responsibilities
Following induction, onboarding, and event-specific briefings, the post holder will be required to:
- Support the delivery of a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for event attendees, staff, and visitors
- Act as a visible stewarding presence to provide reassurance, guidance, and assistance to the public
- Manage crowd movement and flow, directing attendees to entrances, exits, seating, and facilities
- Assist with access management, ticket direction, wrist-band guidance, and queue control (where applicable)
- Monitor crowd behaviour and identify early indicators of congestion, distress, or disorder
- Provide clear information and directions to attendees, responding to enquiries professionally
- Escalate concerns, incidents, or non-compliance promptly to supervisors or event control
- Support emergency procedures, including evacuation, lockdown, and medical response
- Identify and report health and safety hazards, welfare issues, or environmental risks
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct that reflects positively on the client and Bradburys Group
- Work collaboratively with security officers, supervisors, emergency services, and event management
Skills and Qualifications required
Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Previous experience in event stewarding, customer service, or public-facing roles (preferred)
- Strong verbal communication skills and a confident, approachable manner
- Ability to remain calm and composed in busy or high-pressure environments
- Good situational awareness and the ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Willingness to work flexible and unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK
- Smart, professional appearance aligned with event presentation standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a coordinated event team
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining safety standards
Desirable but not essential
- Level 2 Spectator Safety or equivalent stewarding qualification
- Experience working at festivals, concerts, sporting events, or large-scale public gatherings
- Emergency First Aid at Work or Basic Life Support training
- Fire Marshal or evacuation marshal awareness
