Job Overview

To maintain Care skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.

To provide Care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.

Skills and Qualifications required

*Qualifications & Training

Essential:
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Willingness to complete mandatory training (Safeguarding, Medication, First Aid, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Health & Safety)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work

*Experience

Essential
- Ability to follow care plans, risk assessments and professional boundaries

Desirable
- Experience in domiciliary or community care
- Experience in providing personal care and using moving & handling equipment
- Experience supporting clients with dementia, learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs

*Knowledge & Skills

Essential
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, families and colleagues
- Ability to record accurate care notes and complete electronic or paper records
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
- Reliability, punctuality and strong organisational skills

Desirable
- Basic IT skills for electronic call monitoring or digital care systems
- Awareness of cultural needs, equality and diversity in care

- Compassionate, patient and respectful
- Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable working alone in clients' homes
- Calm and resilient in challenging situations
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

*Other requirements

Essential
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one)
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings or week-ends
- Commitment to delivering high quality, person-centred care
- Right to work in the UK
- Full UK driving licence or ability to travel between services
