Job Overview

As a Street Based Youth Worker you will be responsible for the day to day operational delivery of a community project supporting young people through on and off road working. Your primary role will be to engage young people actively involved or on the margins of serious violent crime, providing a trauma informed wrap around service in partnership with local community and statutory partners, within three localities. Working under the direction of the Project Co-ordinator, you will ensure that key community partners are fully engaged in the project through providing facilities, local knowledge and expertise within West & East Leicester and Charnwood. You will work across a partnership of statutory and voluntary organisations ensuring the project is delivered within a public health approach, with an overall aim of system change and positive outcomes for young people. You will have either formal qualifications or lived experience of working with young people 16-25 delivering a wrap-around service of support and positive engagement to change behaviour. Essential: Either: Recognised professional qualification or training in a social science such as: Social Work, Youth and Community Work, criminal Justice, Mental Health, Nursing, Drug and Alcohol or Substance Misuse and/or Qualified by relevant Or: Lived Experience which will be given equal value. Desirable: A full driving licence and use of a vehicle and be willing to travel across the city / county This Post is advertised on an initial 12 / 24-month contract. Qualifications Required

Essential: Either a recognised professional qualification or training in a social science such as: Social Work, Youth and Community Work, criminal Justice, Mental Health, Nursing, Drug and Alcohol or Substance Misuse and/or Qualified by relevant Or Demonstrable Lived Experience, which will be given equal value. Desirable: A full driving licence and use of a vehicle and be willing to travel across the city / county
