Youth Justice Project Development Officer

£23-25k per annum, depending on experience.

Leicestershire Cares

Job Overview

Leicestershire Cares is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Project Development Officer to deliver and develop a new piece of work as part of our Youth Justice team.

We have been successful in securing additional funding from the Violence Reduction Network to work with young people aged 10 to 24 who have or are at risk of offending on a time-limited project to the end of March 2022.

The postholder will work with Turning Point and their Violence Intervention Coaches to secure sustainable education, employment and training opportunities for participants on the Reaching Custody project. This will involve delivering one-to-one coaching, group workshops, facilitating work placements and workplace tours, and engaging with our businesses and other partners.

If you enjoy working with young people, are creative, entrepreneurial, ambitious, resilient, committed to making a change and want to lead and develop young person-centred projects, we would like to hear from you.

Your enthusiasm will be matched by your organisational and planning abilities and your ability to work in partnership with a wide range of organisations and business partners.

The project will give you opportunities to network locally and feed into policy and practice debates.

Given the nature of this post an enhanced DBS check will be carried out.
