Job Overview
Here at PPL PRS we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the team to lead, plan and successfully deliver complex large-scale projects from our road map.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis so that you benefit from the balance of working three days a week from our modern office space and two days a week working from home.
- Project and Programme management across a portfolio of business aligned initiatives. This may include chairing and running project board sessions for the assessment of new proposals, updates on active projects and closure / benefits realisation reviews.
- Manages project delivery activities, typically involving the development and implementation of business solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem to meet identified business needs, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.
- To lead the planning, support and successful delivery of small to large-scale projects from our business road map.
- Lead the initiation and completion of business case documentation for projects in conjunction with business sponsors, to ensure we are delivering successful and sustainable projects with clearly defined and achievable business benefits, using the benefits framework.
- To support the development of documentation and governance processes related to project management
- Analyse and translate requirements into deliverable user stories, facilitating backlog prioritisation and delivery on behalf of business sponsors.
- To deliver projects using our businesses Project Lifecycle, working closely with the senior leadership team to input into and improve our processes
To evaluate and monitor projects delivered to ensure that business benefits are achieved, and results are clearly documented and communicated.
- Ensures that realistic estimates of costs, timescales and resource requirements are agreed and carries out the monitoring of projects against these criteria, taking corrective action as necessary.
Tracking and managing project requests, costs, benefits and resources.
- To support the business teams in documenting requirements and the planning of business changes.
- To project manage, from a “Product Owner” perspective, allocated projects from our business roadmap
- To work alongside stakeholders and the finance team to ensure business cases for projects are defined and planned business benefits are documented for all projects on the business roadmap
- To work alongside stakeholders to define a projects scope and goals, completing project initiation documents for sponsor sign off
- To identify required resource and manage this across the delivery of projects
- To ensure that risks and issues are identified and managed, owning escalation where required
- To ensure that project plans are defined, maintained, and shared with project teams
- Where appropriate to act as ”Product Owner” to lead and guide project delivery teams
- To manage project budgets, where appropriate
- To track project performance and provide required reporting on delivery
- To support implementation of projects, including change management activities to ensure projects embed into our business
- To support the wider business teams in understanding the impact, documenting requirements, and planning the delivery of enhancement / minor technology changes
- To make sure the Licencing Operating Guidelines are updated to reflect new ways of working, within the quarterly update cycle
Skills and Qualifications required
• Experience as a PM with Technology/IT background
• Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to build relationships to manage both executive level and shareholder stakeholders
• At least 2 years working experience in a project management role essential
• Proven experience of managing and delivering successful complex large-scale projects
• Project Management certification – PRINCE2, PMP or similar
• Experience in Agile Project Management
• Experienced in use of collaboration tools e.g. Teams, Confluence, Jira, etc
• Working knowledge of a project management tool or software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in managing a project budget – forecasting costs, tracking actuals, forecasting product revenue or operational savings
• Able to construct and deliver presentations, presenting options and clear recommendations to a high standard, to senior and executive management
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with PowerPoint knowledge essential
• Experience of coaching and supporting Project Leaders through their projects.
• Must be organised and able to manage own priorities and workload
• Experience in collating and distributing progress reporting to senior stakeholders
