42 Tower Street LE1 6WT

Job Overview

Leicestershire Cares is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Project Development Manager to lead, develop and manage our Powering Up Project. The aim of the project is to support young people aged 15-24 with experience of the care system to develop key soft and hard skills, confidence, peer and community networks, and connections that will enable them to live happy and rewarding lives. The Powering Up project is funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Trust and will build on the successful work we have developed with care experienced young people (CEYP). The postholder will be guided by our “Power to Change” approach and the emphasis it puts on giving a “voice” to the lived experience of the young people and communities we support. If you enjoy working with young people, are experienced in leading and managing a team, are creative, ambitious, resilient, committed to making a change and want to lead and develop young person-centred projects, we would like to hear from you. Your enthusiasm will be matched by your leadership and management skills and your ability to work in partnership with a wide range of organisations and business partners. The project will give you opportunities to network locally and feed into policy and practice debates. The project is part of the Esmee Fairbairn leaving care portfolio of work and so you will benefit from learning events and training with CEYP projects from around the UK.
