Lads Chemist is an independent pharmacy operating in the heart of the Spinney Hills community. Our aim is to provide our customers and patients with a high-quality service in: •Dispensing and supply of medicines. •Face to face personal pharmacist consultations. •Offering a range of good value products that help make people feel better. As part of the wider NHS, our pharmacy offers a number of NHS Clinic services including Flu Jabs. You will be part of a close-knit team providing key NHS Healthcare Services to a vibrant local community. The Job Role: The role will require the successful candidate to work as a part of our experienced team to provide an excellent service to our customer base. Your role will be to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies of dispensing, storage, distribution and customer services, and to implement these in practice. Working to meet the requirements of current legislation, professional standards and ethics, and pharmacy department performance targets, and achieving a Level 2 in Pharmacy Services Assistant qualification. The role will require you to undertake a range of activities in the pharmacy which would typically include: Receiving and checking off orders Stock control and ordering Responding to customer/patient inquires Collection and handling of prescriptions Supporting our Healthy Living Award accreditation Over the counter sales Ensuring patient confidentiality at all times Joint responsibility for keeping the store well presented at all times. Requirements and prospects Required skills The successful candidate must be computer literate and have excellent communication skills including ability to speak one of the South Asian languages, for example Hindi, Gujarati or Punjabi given the local community to be served. Personal qualities It is essential that we recruit someone with strong people skills and has the ability to empathise with our patients in any given situation. The successful candidate will also need to be smart, well presented and have the drive and enthusiasm to become an excellent Pharmacy assistant. Desired qualifications A minimum GCSE Grade D in Maths and English (or Equivalent level 1 qualifications) are required for this role. Things to consider Enrolment onto the level 2 Pharmacy services apprenticeship through College is a mandatory requirement for this position. Time off during your working week will be allocated to support your successful completion of the course.
