Base location: Lutterworth and Countesthorpe foodbanks with an office base in Market Harborough
Contract: Fixed term until 31/12/2025

Citizens Advice Leicestershire is an independent and local not for profit organisation, providing accessible and high quality information, advice and education to anyone who needs it. Last year we supported 31,715 people across Leicester and Leicestershire, securing around £14,109,952 in maximised income for our citizens. We take a partnership approach to deliver our services, working with local government, National Citizens Advice and local VCSE organisations.

About the role:
We’re excited to introduce the role of Lutterworth and Villages Foodbank Adviser. This important position is designed to provide high-quality information, advice and ongoing casework for individuals at the Lutterworth and Villages Foodbank. Your efforts will directly address the underlying issues leading to their need for emergency food support. Collaborating closely with our generalist service and the foodbank, you’ll play a key role in guiding our clients toward stability and self-reliance.

The main purpose of the role is:

Work in partnership with our generalist services and the foodbank to offer informed advice, referring and signposting clients as needed.
Use your listening and questioning skills to help clients understand their options, supporting them in making informed decisions.
Identify and assist clients in accessing appropriate benefits and financial assistance, including debt advice, to improve their financial wellbeing.
About you:
You should be dedicated to helping others overcome challenges and believe in the power of advice and support to transform lives. You’ll understand the complexities that can lead to food insecurity and will be driven to empower individuals to find lasting solutions. Your key strengths should include:

Connecting with clients from all backgrounds respectfully, using clear and empathetic communication in person, on the phone, and via digital platforms.
Confident with technology and capable of managing detailed casework, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines with accuracy.
Comfortable in a dynamic environment, maintaining high standards whilst working towards targets and welcoming feedback and being committed to continuous improvement.
