Job Overview

Graduate Design Engineer Contract Hours: 37 Hours Remuneration/ Pay rate: Circa £24,000 Per annum Location: Ellistown, Coalville

Details: The work is predominantly mechanical design using Solidworks and includes the management of projects from concept and initiation to procurement and installation and can include practical site work and prototype trials. As part of a small team, you will have regular communications with customers and suppliers. The role requires close cooperation with engineers and technicians from other organisations to ensure objectives and timescales are met.

You will be responsible for projects from customer initiation to completion and installation. The role is based in Ellistown but occasional travel may be required.

Candidate Requirements • Formal Engineering qualification to degree level (MEng or BEng) • Good working knowledge of 3D CAD packages – ideally Solidworks. • A reasonable understanding of manufacturing techniques • Willingness to learn new skills and expand existing knowledge. • Good verbal, visual and written communication skills. • Good time management skills • Any knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical systems is beneficial.

The Role: You will be working on the design of various products used in an industrial environment such as tooling, jigs, assembly fixtures and lifting gear. Your main roles will include but are not limited to: - Liaising with customers and suppliers on site - Develop customer requirements and specifications - Design and develop equipment that meets customer safety and operational requirements - Producing Cad models and manufacturing drawings. - Quoting for projects - Project management of manufacture and installations.
