Venue Operations Assistant with Athena Events Ltd

Role Summary
Athena is a events venue in the cultural quarter of Leicester City Centre, England. The venue has received a Silver award for Best Awards Ceremony Venue and being named winner of the Best Event Venue. To date the venue has relayed on repeat business and customers mainly with a 90% retention rate on events, due to the impact of Covid-19 a good amount of our customers have been forced to close or scale down their event, hence the company now need to remarket the business in line with modern channels to increase business awareness to a new and wider business and social circle.

Athena Events are recruiting for a Venue Operations Assistant, this will be a hands-on role responsible for all aspects of the event and venue delivery.

Key Responsibilities/Main Tasks
Open and close venue as required.
Filling function sheet requirements, set up bars, tables chairs.
Work with a team to ensure event set up is complete.
Responsible for the set up and breakdown of event layouts.
Assist with set up of bars and maintain back of house equipment and stock levels – record keeping key holder.

Training
Athena Events will provide all successful candidates with First Aid training. Successful candidates will also receive training on customer care, bar and catering, opening and closing of venue and fire safety. Experience is not essential however a willingness to learn and develop is required. The role would suit someone who has an interest in event management.

Covid-19
Athena Events are operating in a Covid-19 secure manner to protect all staff and clients including wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when on shift, ensuring regular sanitation of hands and all touch zones and maintaining social distancing where possible. All appropriate PPE will be provided for staff.

Essential criteria:
Good communication skills verbal and written and good telephone manner and customer care.
Excellent IT and skills with experience of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of different social media platforms and functions.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Highly organised with good time management skills with ability to manage and prioritise own workload.
Flexibility to cover different shift patterns.
Physically fit and able to stand on feet for long periods.

Desirable:
Previous customer service or event management experience.

Pay: National minimum wage
